I am a historian and much published author. I have also been a journalist and still do occasional work for newspapers and magazines. I have taught in a number of universities but more recently I have turned to teaching at GCSE and A Levels. I taught history and French to GCSE and A Level in 1985, soon after I returned to London after seven years living in Paris. Having youngish children of my own (20 and 15) I am quite aware of the particularities of the curriculum and indeed of university entrance requirements.
