I am a kind, friendly, professional and qualified teacher. I am extremely passionate about teaching and find the position fulfilling and beneficial to the students I work with. I am a great communicator and listener and adapt my lessons to the students’ needs.
As a private tutor, I discuss the targets with every student at the beginning of the lesson so that they take ownership of their progress.
Homework is sent via email after every lesson for students to consolidate their learning. I regularly invite discussion with parents on their expectations and the students’ potential.
Over my 15-year career, I have tutored hundreds of students at various levels, including Maths KS3, GCSE, ‘A’ level, Higher level IB and CIE. I have also helped students with CIE and computing, coding and data analytics.
My lessons are generally 1-1 with a few group sessions and online teaching. The vast majority of my students have achieved a better grade than that predicted by the school.
I believe that tutoring increases motivation improves self-esteem encourages higher levels of learning and improves grades.
It also helps strengthen subject comprehension, with this in mind, I encourage students to think and make new connections for themselves. I regularly attend courses to keep up to date with the ongoing changes in the curriculum and have all the necessary resources to support my students and enable them to tackle its rising demands. Varsha has an interactive whiteboard flip chart etc. and she emails homework after every lesson and which she then marks in her own time.
