The tutor says of herself:

Hi, I’m currently working towards my PhD in History at the University of East Anglia. My research is interdisciplinary, so I get to work with objects, art works, books and literature, and archival texts. Due to my varied interests and bank of knowledge, I am confident in tutoring in History (of course), Religious Studies, and English Literature. I came to further education later than ‘normal’ and have been on this trajectory for the past 6 years, so can empathise with the pressures placed on students. I completed my undergraduate degree at the University of East Anglia, and my MPhil at the University of Cambridge. My career goal is to become a lecturer at a university or institution, so to begin tutoring is an exciting opportunity that will offer an invaluable experience. I am very learner-led. This means that after getting to know what the learner’s, parent’s, and curriculum expectations are, I will discuss with the learner how they think they will best achieve their goals and offer some ideas of my own. It is then my job to enable this to the best of my abilities, with as much structure and support as necessary. As each reason a person needs a tutor is different, it is essential that each approach is tailored. I especially value the tutor-learner working relationship, so will work hard to build their confidence in me, and themselves.
