The tutor says of himself:
I have taught in a very successful comprehensive secondary academy in Barnet for 23 years. I have taught all aspects of KS3 and GCSE Biology, Chemistry and Physics to pupils of all abilities, and A level Biology, Chemistry and Psychology. During that time I have worked as an A level examiner and moderator for two of the three exam boards. Since taking early retirement from school in 2015 I have continued to work as an examiner. Before school teaching I was a medical researcher and lecturer for eight years in hospitals in London and Glasgow. In lessons I usually aim for an informal and purposeful approach, and I adapt my teaching style to suit the student. I discuss the aims and methods of the tuition with the student and with the parents, and use my wide experience to try to achieve them. I enjoy helping all students to make progress in their own way.

Here is some of the recent feedback Bill has received:
Bill was a great tutor for us. Really suited what we required. He is really knowledgable and my son used him as a huge revision resource and guide for both his GCSE science (where he moved from B grade to gaining A*) and more recently with his A Level Psychology. He took his exams feeling quite confident. Bill was always on time, flexible about days and times and never let us down. Thanks for the connection.
Mrs F from WhetstoneBill did quite a bit of GCSE science revision tutoring for us and there was a great outcome. Scott moved from a B to an A*!!
Mrs F from WhetstoneBill did come across very positive and knowledgeable - having that background to the backend of the exam process was also good to hear from him. Many thanks!
Mr S from WhetstoneThank you Simon, we were very happy with Bill Thanks!
Mr R from Friern BarnetBill is a very good teacher, very knowledgeable and knows the spec, and we were very pleased with him. Many thanks!
Mrs L from FinchleyMany thanks for your support. Tillys lessons with her psychology tutor, Bill, are going well and we can highly recommend him. He has been both sensitive and flexible with Tillys learning needs.
Mr C from BarnetBill was an absolutely wonderful tutor and he helped me immensely with my studies. I was extremely pleased to have him supporting me with my work. I am so grateful to you and to both tutors I became acquainted with through Torrington tutors.
Miss M from TottenhamHi Simon, Bill was great - clearly knowledgeable and very personable. Nina liked him and it was a good tutor session. Good to know where you are and that you can help. Much appreciated, Fiona
