There are many key skills and competencies that students gain from studying Computer Science. These include analytical skills, problem solving skills, creativity, critical thinking skills, resilience and the ability to work in a team.

From primary to high school students are introduced to the basics of algorithms, binary, programming and coding These skills are advanced with computational thinking and problem solving plus widening of theoretical knowledge up to and including GCSE. Examples of this might be exploring fundamentals of cyber security, computer networks or data representation.

To study for a Computer Science related degree, it is advisory to gain A Levels in Mathematics, English Language and a core Science subject, such as Physics. It may also be imperative to have at least 5 GCSEs including Mathematics, English Language and a core Science subject; this said, it is likely that universities will have different entry requirements.
